Service disruption on 8/22/2017

This post is basically to acknowledge that my web server went down for ~15 minutes on 8/22, at approx. 1pm.

I was tooling with SSL renewing, while also removing some legacy domains. However, one of the legacy domains was the “backbone certificate” for all other sites. Apache refused to start on my VPS.

The issue has been corrected, and I’m slowly renewing all certificates for all sites. I should be done by 1:30pm. Sorry, certbot. Love Let’s Encrypt, but their certbot software is slow. I also occasionally get distracted by Reddit.

If you see an HTTPS error on some sites, this is why. If you see an HTTPS error in your browser even after I’m done, try using a different browser, clear your browser’s cache, or just wait.
